DEVELOPER SWINDLES OVER 200 IN IPONRI LAGOS

One Developer, Mr Adeyemi Kabiru and his Wife/Partner/Accomplice, Mrs Funmilayo Bukky Akingboju almost succeeded in scamming over 200 people by collecting House Rent for a house at 56, Moshalashi Street, Iponri, Lagos; (Very close to Costain Bustop), for a span of about 9 months.

Credible reports have it that they collected rent for an apartment from an average of 6 people. It was also said that they repeated this act at other similar buildings at Orile and Aguda.

The monies they collected ranged from about N100,000 to N600,000 from unsuspecting individuals, with the assurance that the building would be completed “soon”.

On Thursday, 8th June, 2017 as early as 6am, a colleague's friend of mine got a call on her way to work that someone had moved into her apartment and that she should rush over to Iponri immediately, on getting there she said it was chaos as over 200 people of various ranks from bankers, to soldiers, civilians and even touts were present.

Everyone was either shouting, threating, wailing or just lamenting. Others had broken in and started claiming random apartments, while other stood outside with their loads. Touts were seen rolling joints and brandishing weapons, in a certain room was inscribed “Esu Room” with Charcoal.

At about 9 am, it was learnt that the developer Mr K. Adeyemi has been arrested by the Police at Alagbon Station, though his partner was still at large. He was arrested after another agent who we heard hee had duped of about #3m got an injunction for his arrest all the way from Abuja [PIC]

Many claimants stormed the police station to write their individual statements and attached with it duplicates of their receipts. The case is being handled by an IPO Sgt. Shedrack.

The case is still ongoing and a Human Right Activist as well as a Barrister has agreed to help the many victims fight for justice. Many victims also marched to the state house at Alausa to make a complaint about this case, though no feedback has since been received on this.

We are calling on well-meaning Nigerians, the government of Lagos state, Surulere Constituency, appropriate Authorities, the media and everyone and anyone to help these people get justice.
